You can personalise your voicemail greeting to suit your needs, whether that’s informing the caller of your availability, the duration of your personal leave or redirecting them to another colleague or department.
There are two voicemail greeting styles you can choose, a default greeting using your name, or a blank message you can record yourself.
Recording your voicemail greetings
- This can be recorded using your phone/device through your voicemail portal. This will require calling a specific number or extension, so you may need to speak to your administrator if you are unsure of how to access the portal.
- Log in to the voicemail portal using your PIN code. This will be unique to you, though your administrator can reset this if required.
- If this is your first time accessing the voicemail portal you will be asked to record your name greeting, which will then be used across the various default voicemail greetings. Follow the prompts to complete this process.
The default voicemail greetings are:
- Busy greeting – This will play when you are already in an active call. The default message is as follows: “[Name] is busy and cannot take your call, please leave a message after the tone. To end the recording press #”.
- No Answer greeting – This will play when you are unable to answer a call. The default message is as follows: “[Name] is not available to take your call, please leave a message after the tone. To end the recording press #”.
- If you wish to change these defaults to your own custom recording, press 1 to access the Voicemail section.
- In the Voicemail section, press 2 to change the Busy greeting or press 3 to change the No Answer greeting.
- Regardless of which greeting you wish to change, press 1 to record a new greeting. This is a blank, fully personalised recording with no additional messaging.
Recording your name greeting
Webex uses your name greeting as part of the default voice messages.
To change this:
- Access your voicemail portal and press 3.
- You can rerecord the name greeting section of the default voice messages.
Please note any change to this recording will be applied instantly to the default Busy and default No Answer greetings, described above.
